It’s a rainy day. And that’s a good thing.
Rain brings:
- Moisture (obviously)
- Clean air
- An end to the drought
- Comforting sounds
- An excuse to wrap up in an afghan or blanket with a good book and hot beverage
- Peaceful sleep
- Beauty
- Spring flowers
Each day, even a rainy day, contains joys and blessings.
As Joseph B. Wirthlin said, “Sometimes we should express our gratitude for the small and simple things like the scent of the rain, the taste of your favorite food, or the sound of a loved one’s voice.”
How can you celebrate this rainy day?
- Take a few moments to be joyful you are alive
- Rejoice in this gift from the Father’s hand
- Spend this day loving on others
- Receive love from those closest to you
- Apologize for mistakes you’ve made
- Create something that thrills you
- Praise Father God for delighting you.
Yes, there may be less-than-delightful parts of your day. But, that doesn’t change the fact that there are treasures hidden in it. Look for them. Ask the Father to open your eyes to see them. He has something specially designed to delight you in this day.
On this rainy day filled with blessing, be encouraged by these timeless words:
Let all that I am praise the Lord;
with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name.
Let all that I am praise the Lord;
may I never forget the good things he does for me.
He forgives all my sins
and heals all my diseases.
He redeems me from death
and crowns me with love and tender mercies.
He fills my life with good things.
My youth is renewed like the eagle’s!The Lord is compassionate and merciful,
slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love.
He will not constantly accuse us,
nor remain angry forever.
He does not punish us for all our sins;
he does not deal harshly with us, as we deserve.
For his unfailing love toward those who fear him
is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth.
He has removed our sins as far from us
as the east is from the west.The Lord is like a father to his children,
tender and compassionate to those who fear him.
For he knows how weak we are;
he remembers we are only dust.
Our days on earth are like grass;
like wildflowers, we bloom and die.
The wind blows, and we are gone-
as though we had never been here.
But the love of the Lord remains forever
with those who fear him.
His salvation extends to the children’s children
of those who are faithful to his covenant,
of those who obey his commandments!
